The Fate of Two Stains: Canada’s 2021 Federal Election

The 2021 federal election in Canada offers nothing new to the table, besides continued corporate control over the country and a chance to swap one poorly stained administration for another.

Millions of Canadian citizens are heading to the polls today as the country has a federal election which will — similarly to the 2020 presidential election in the United States — feature nothing new for already-struggling Canadians from west to east. Despite the overly-kind wording put in place by the various parties promising all sorts of “new” plans and benefits for civilians, the only people who stand a chance of winning anything are the multinational corporations who are already intensely interconnected with the Canadian state apparatus.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has called for a general election which — if he and the Liberals were to win — would allow him to serve for a third term in parliament. However, this election features a wide range of serious concerns, controversies, and a broadly disgruntled working class.
