Economic Warfare and Open Destruction

Traditional warfare is not the only way to curtail governments that do not align with the foreign policy objectives of the United States.

Throughout the history of the United States and especially following its transition to being the sole global hegemonic and primary imperialist power, there has been the ‘question’ of how to halt the growth of leaders, parties, and organizations that are not openly willing to, effectively, sell their country off to them. This question is rooted in the methodologies of how to preserve the dominance of the United States, their overarching corporate entities, and their social status in the world.

In Latin America, there have been countless coup d’etats conducted against not only openly Marxist leaders like Salvador Allende in Chile, but also against broadly social democratic politicians such as João Goulart in Brazil and Jacobo Árbenz in Guatemala. These coups openly allowed for the construction of Operation Condor, an intelligence alliance between the Latin American right-wing military dictatorships and the United States. It was used to persecute even the most vaguely left-leaning individuals across South America.
